The Supreme Court of India has suspended the Delhi High Court's order, which stayed a notice from the city government to bike-taxi aggregators Rapido and Uber, allowing them to operate without aggregator licenses until the final policy is notified.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has challenged the Delhi High Court's May 26 order, urging the Supreme Court not to take any coercive action against the bike-taxi aggregators until the final policy is implemented.
On Monday, the Supreme Court heard two pleas filed by the Delhi government against the high court order, which permitted Rapido and Uber to continue their operations in the national capital until the administration notifies the final policy on the operation of two-wheeler non-transport vehicles.
