Mumbai Faces Hot, Humid Weather, No Heatwave Alert Today: Latest IMD Forecast

  • Hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on Tuesday according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD has placed Mumbai under a yellow alert, indicating a heat advisory for the area. Hot and humid weather conditions will also prevail in coastal districts of Maharashtra.
  • The IMD predicts an increase in the maximum temperature by 1-2 degrees Celsius during the next four days over most parts of Maharashtra. Subsequently, there will be a mild relief as the maximum temperature is expected to fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
  • In April, above-normal maximum temperatures are expected in most parts of Maharashtra, according to the IMD's monthly forecast. The state is also likely to experience an above-normal number of heatwave days during the month.
  • Precautions should be taken during heatwave-like conditions, especially by vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children. National and State Disaster Management Authorities provide guidelines for action, including access to cooling centers and heat advisories for the public.
