- Apple's first two stores opened in Glendale, Calif. and Tysons Corner in Virginia. These stores initially offered products such as iBooks, iMacs and Power Macs, as well as the then-new MacBook G4 Titanium.
- The Apple Store's initial success began in 2021, and it has never slowed down since. Today, Apple stores around the world remain popular and well-known.
- During the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, every Apple store globally was closed for months. After selectively reopening stores, Apple paid all its retail staff during the lockdown.
- Apple has faced criticism regarding the relationship between Apple and its Apple Store staff. Deirdre O’Brien, the head of Apple’s retail, expressed her concern about unionizing and made it clear that Apple Stores should not have unions.
- Apple has also been accused of taking illegal anti-union steps, such as firing activist employees. As a result, retail staff in Australia went on strike.
