Some employees were not expecting to be laid off and thought only low-performers would be impacted by the layoffs.
People shared their experiences of grief, anger, depression, and anxiety after being laid off, but eventually processed those emotions and turned to new ventures for re-energizing themselves.
The former employees advised not to make career decisions from a place of fear and encouraged to stay somewhere because they're passionate, rather than because they're afraid to try something else.
Most people shared their views that Google leadership could have done better during the layoffs.
The former Google employees expressed gratitude for the severance packages they received, which helped them start new ventures.
