Skoda’s new EV gets drive-away pricing, guaranteed future value
- Skoda Australia has revealed drive-away pricing for its new Elroq electric SUV, with the entry-level 2025 Skoda Elroq 85 Select priced at $59,990 drive-away and the 2025 Skoda Elroq 130 Years Edition at $69,990 drive-away.
- The Elroq comes with Skoda Choice finance options starting from $171 per week for the 85 Select and $199 per week for the 130 Years Edition, on a 60-month term.
- Both versions of the Skoda Elroq for Australia will be powered by a rear-mounted 210kW electric motor fed by an 82kWh (net) battery, offering a 0-100km/h sprint in 6.6 seconds and a combined WLTP driving range of 529 kilometres.
- The Elroq undercuts some competitors in pricing, like the Kia EV3 Earth Long Range, Volkswagen ID.4 Pro, and Tesla Model Y RWD, but is dearer than the BYD Atto 3 Premium and Sealion 7 Premium.

Rapid Bus KL bus lane hours extended – 4:30pm-7pm
- Rapid Bus together with the Selangor public works department (JKR) has extended the operating hours of the Jalan Ampang bus lane from 4:30pm to 7pm, effective May 19, 2025.
- The extended hours will apply to a 0.62 km stretch on Jalan Ampang benefitting key bus routes including feeder routes and is expected to enhance passenger experience on these routes.
- The Jalan Ampang bus lane has seen increased ridership since its introduction on July 3, 2023, with daily passengers growing from 12,819 to 14,424.
- Rapid Bus aims to attract more users towards public transport by providing time savings, with an evaluation of this initiative planned by Rapid Bus, JKR, MIROS, and the ministry of transport over the next three months.
