India industrial output numbers to be released with a reduced lag
- The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) in India has announced that it will reduce the lag in the release of industrial output numbers.
- Currently, the All India Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is released within 42 days from the reference month.
- From April 2025 onwards, the IIP will be released on the 28th of every month, within 28 days from the reference month.
- The release will include quick estimates for the current month and final estimates for the previous three months.
