Nifty Top Gainers And Losers On April 16: HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel To Infosys, Maruti Suzuki

  • Nifty 50 closed 0.47%, or 108.65 points higher at 23,437. While the Sensex closed 0.40% or 309.40 points higher at 77,044.
  • Axis Bank Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd. and Bharti Airtel Ltd. emerged as the top gainers for the day. On the other hand, Infosys Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd. and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. were the worst performers of the Nifty 50 index.
  • Axis Bank Ltd. was among the top gainers as the private lender contributed the most to the Nifty 50's gains. The Nifty Bank closed 1.41% higher.
  • The biggest laggard for the trading session was Infosys, as the stock declined 0.90% at market close to Rs 1,413.10 apiece. It was closely followed by Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Maruti Suzuki India which declined 0.92% at Rs 3,227.70 apiece and 1.61% at Rs 11,664 per share, respectively.
