How to recover from a respring loop after installing a buggy jailbreak tweak

  • Respring loops are generally easy to recover from after installing a buggy jailbreak tweak.
  • A respring loop is when your iPhone appears to respring repeatedly without ever fully starting back up again.
  • There are a few different steps you can take to fix a respring loop.
  • Since most jailbreaks depend on the user re-jailbreaking the device after a hard restart, this can be used to your advantage if you’re stuck in a respring loop.
  • If a respring loop isn’t responding, and you have OpenSSH installed on your jailbroken device then you may be able to use a terminal application on your computer to kick it out of a respring loop.
  • If you don’t have access to OpenSSH one nuclear way to win this battle with a respring loop is to simply let the battery of the device in question run out.
  • After the battery dies, you can charge it back up and the device should then boot back up into a non-jailbroken state.
  • Various jailbreaks support no jailbreak tweak mode which allows all jailbreak tweaks to stop working and you can remove the offending jailbreak tweak from your package manager.
  • Respring loops are never fun, but the good news is you aren't completely out of options when it happens to you.
  • Take your time to troubleshoot, and you just may recover from it unscathed.

Can't find the promised AI features on your new Kindle Scribe? Here's why

  • The new Kindle Scribe was released on December 5th and its biggest selling point is that it includes AI features that are deigned to be useful.
  • Amazon has however managed to make these AI features unavailable to most international customers.
  • The features include note summaries and handwriting recognition, both are accessed through the star-like icon on the top right corner.
  • Customers in the UK or Australia have bought their Kindle Scrive they found out that the available AI features were only available for US customers.
  • Nevertheless a quick workaround is available for those Kindle Scribe owners that live outside of the US and want to install the AI features. This requires a valid US address and phone number
  • Once their Amazon US account has been established, the AI features can be installed and used without any hassle.
  • It's worth noting that the new address does not affect the customer’s payment method, just the currency being charged in USD rather than the local currency.
  • The AI summary feature actually uses UK spelling, which is an interesting detail.
  • The AI features are set to roll out to the older Kindle Scribe model in early 2025.
  • Customers who purchase the older Kindle Scribe model are better off waiting than finding a workaround that might impact their purchases in the future.

How to use Apple’s Image Playground to generate images based on text input

  • Apple offers Image Playground, an app built for messages, that lets you generate images based on text prompts and photos of people.
  • Image Playground is only currently supported on certain devices with Apple silicon chips and is only available in the US at present.
  • To use, you create an image using a text prompt or pre-existing photo, with the option to add themes, costumes, accessories and specific locations to personalise it.
  • Once created, you can copy, share and save the image within the app.
  • Unlike Genmoji and Image Wand, which have size limitations for prompt text, Image Playground doesn't display a limit and seems limitless.
  • Image Playground is praised for letting you create an image based on a selected photo, compared to Genmoji feature, where you’re stuck choosing a recognised face from the photo library.
  • However, it is noted that once the novelty wears off, there are very few practical reasons to use it.

iPad mini 2024 review: unbeatable, in unexpected ways

  • The iPad mini 2024 is a small and comfortable tablet with loads of power and performance.
  • It has a better aspect ratio and sharp display. The A17 Pro silicon is powerful and battery life is impressive.
  • Though its screen should be brighter, and Apple Intelligence is yet to prove its worth.
  • It's the prophesied “third category” of device, low-cost, looks cute and can still do a lot.
  • The only notable difference in its display is its aspect ratio compared to other iPads, which makes video watching and gaming more natural and productive.
  • The A17 Pro is more than capable of handling graphics-intensive and mobile games, as well as PSP and Nintendo emulation.
  • The tablet's battery life is fantastic and should last three years before needing a replacement under normal use conditions.
  • Apple Intelligence is still half-baked, delivering hit or miss notifications, email responses, and document efforts.
  • If you desire a small, palm-friendly tablet, especially for reading, streaming, and gaming, the iPad mini offers silky smooth software, a lovely build, and solid battery life.
  • Unfortunately, it doesn't fix any lingering problems and is still not bright enough for comfortable outside use creating a missed opportunity.
