  • Less than 1% of customers whose bags arrive later can now securely share the location of an AirTag or Find My accessory with United customer service agents through the United app for faster bag recovery.
  • Apple’s Share Item Location feature enables United customers who travel with an AirTag or Find My network accessory to share the accessory's location with the airline’s customer service team to find the lost luggage.
  • United’s infrastructure, training and technology investments are geared towards making travel experience better, especially when plans don’t go as expected.

In Defense of the Humble Desktop

  • Desktop computers are actually superior to laptops, tablets and smartphones when it comes to performance, value, versatility and productivity.
  • Desktops are better for rendering 4K video, gaming and running multiple virtual machines; unlike laptops, which cry at such tasks.
  • Upgradability for desktops is easy, unlike laptops which become obsolete in three years. You can swap new graphics cards or add a terabyte of storage with a few clicks.
  • Tablets have limitations, are less versatile, not good for running professional-grade software or connecting to multiple monitors. They are good only for drawing cute doodles in Procreate or binge-watching Disney+.
  • Laptops break often and need expensive repairs, while desktops are immovable and far more stable. Spilled coffee only damages the desk, not the motherboard.
  • Desktop gaming rigs provide better graphics, faster frame rates and real surround sound. PC gaming enthusiasts get to mod their systems to make their machine their own.
  • Most people who swear by laptops, tablets and smartphones are buying into planned obsolescence. Desktops, on the other hand, are built to last; a six-year-old desktop can be made to work like new with a RAM upgrade or GPU swap out.
  • Desktops are flexible and customizable. They can adapt to meet the needs of video editors, streamers, data scientists, and anyone who wants to run their games on ultra settings without fear of crashing.
  • Desktops are the ultimate work-from-home tool, with big screens, better ergonomics and more power to handle Zoom calls, spreadsheets and heavy-duty software all at once.
  • Desktops stand as a quiet rebellion to a world obsessed with appearances where durability and power take the back seat to thinness and shininess. They are not flashy, but functional.

  • Learn how to disable or block all Apple Intelligence features on your iPhone or iPad if you don’t find them useful.
  • You can deactivate specific AI features without disabling the main Apple Intelligence switch.
  • You can disable most Apple Intelligence features in one swoop by going to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri and switching off Apple Intelligence.
  • Finally, imagine a situation where you want your child to put in the effort and complete their school report independently, without relying on Apple Intelligence Writing Tools to generate or rewrite content for them.
  • These restrictions are part of the Screen Time parental controls, ensuring your child can’t reactivate them without entering the Screen Time password you’ve set for their device.
  • Apple Intelligence Clean Up feature to remove unwanted objects from pictures continues to show when you edit an image in the Photos app.
  • Turning off Apple Intelligence blocks you from creating Genmojis.
  • Transcribing phone and FaceTime audio call recordings, audio added to the Notes app, and voice recordings in the Voice Memos app continue to work even with Apple Intelligence turned off.
  • Additionally, there is no clear way to switch off these features, and your only option is to ignore them and not use them.
  • In my extensive testing on iPhone and iPad, I found that the following things continue to work even after turning off Apple Intelligence.
