It boasts 1,000 nits of brightness for SDR content, while even the best MacBooks only reach 600 nits when viewing SDR content. The clarity of motion that comes from individually-lit pixels found in OLED displays can't be beat. Apple has even centered the camera for less awkward video calls and added the function row of keys in its new Magic Keyboard, making iPad Pro more laptop-like. However, gamers must wait a long time for this kind of tech to transition over to Apple's laptops.
- Apple is strengthening its gaming platform on the Mac bringing over more titles that actually need the power of Apple's stronger GPU offerings, and Mac gamers have been treated well so far. With super-slimline device, massive performance, and excellent efficiency that also has a fantastic 120Hz OLED display, the new M4 iPad Pro would make the perfect MacBook addition for gaming. However, it's not a Mac, meaning some games are only ever going to be playable on a larger, more powerful MacBook Pro.
- The line between iPad and MacBook is becoming more blurry, and with this OLED display, Apple could create the perfect gaming MacBook. The 120Hz mini-LED panel inside the current MacBook Pro is already one of the best displays in a laptop, but adding OLED into the mix would put the MacBook Pro in a class of its own and potentially make it one of the best gaming laptops compared to other laptops.
- Mac gamers have a lot to enjoy with the current crop of Apple laptops, but the Ultra Retina XDR debuting on its new iPad Pro has made it loud and clear that what's missing from the puzzle is an OLED display. What the heck is going on with Helldivers 2?
- Helldivers 2, a third-person co-op shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, went live on PlayStation 5 and Steam on February 8.
- Helldivers 2 was so popular that Arrowhead’s servers had trouble meeting demand and had to be capped at 450,000 players.
- On Thursday, May 2, Sony announced that all Helldivers 2 Steam players would be required to log into their PSN accounts.
- Refunds were also out of the question for most players since Steam generally limits those to games that’ve been played for less than two hours.
- Over the weekend, more than 200,000 people posted negative reviews of Helldivers 2 on Steam, tanking its overall rating.
- On Sunday, May 5, Sony silently removed Helldivers 2 from Steam in 177 countries and territories that don’t have access to PSN.
- On May 6, the day the PSN requirement was set to go live for new players, Sony backtracked.
- Helldivers 2 is now available in every region that has Steam, with the option to link a PSN account.
- It’s unclear what the riots will mean for future Sony games on PC, but there’s another test coming up soon with the release of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on May 16.
- The issue with Helldivers 2 wasn't account linking. The issue was Sony's short-sighted execution of a high-profile PC rollout and its poor communication with upset players after the fact.
