- Google I/O 2024 had some announcements I was pretty excited about, but overall, it was a bit of a disappointment.
- Google I/O has set a precedent for unveiling tech, but this year’s event lacked hardware announcements.
- We got a lot of AI and learned about advancements to Gemini and the Project Astra demo in Google I/O 2024.
- Project Astra glasses were showcased, and if implemented into smart glasses, it’d be an awesome experience, but the company did not discuss the hardware.
- Android 15 announcements were pushed to the second day despite its importance for Google.
- Pacing was confusing and repetitive, making the event longer than necessary.
- Though interesting topics and announcements were made, lack of hardware, odd pacing and less enthusiasm for Android 15 left a lingering disappointment.
- Looking forward to Google's October product launch when more discussion will be held about Android 15, Gemini and finally, hardware.
