Nvidia RTX 5070 could launch at CES 2025, and rumored spec – including 12GB of VRAM – means everyone hates this GPU already

Nvidia’s RTX 5070 will use the GB205 chip, with 192-bit memory bus and 12GB of VRAM (GDDR7).
Leaker Harukaze5719 backs up these specs entirely, while adding a purported core count, namely 6,400.
Wccftech has made this claim, and also provides some spec revelations for the RTX 5070.
It'll chug 250W (compared to 200W for the RTX 4070).
The RTX 5070 is apparently going to be revealed at CES 2025, alongside the rumored RTX 5080 and 5090 next-gen graphics cards.
Whatever the respective specs, Nvidia will hopefully ensure that these graphics cards make sense in terms of performance per dollar, and overall value.
We’re still in rumor-land, firstly, and also, we don’t know the pricing attached to these GPUs.
Wccftech talks about Nvidia revealing “next-generation AI technologies” for the PC gamer which will be a big surprise at CES 2025.
It does feel like Nvidia is pushing gamers who play at 4K to buy their priciest GPUs.

For a while now, two-factor authentication (2FA) has been hailed as the holy grail of online security. However, like yesterday’s newspaper, it’s starting to show its age. Modern authentication techniques go beyond just two-factor authentication. A combination of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Behavioral Analytics, and Adaptive Authentication can offer a more robust defense. Additionally, monitoring devices for suspicious activity, such as unusual access patterns or configuration changes, adds an extra layer of security to prevent breaches before they escalate. Keep up with the latest security trends and emerging threats in the cloud computing space. Subscribe to cybersecurity news feeds, attend relevant conferences, and participate in professional networks.
Sophisticated phishing attacks can now trick users into revealing their 2FA codes, and SIM-swapping attacks can intercept SMS-based 2FA. With inadequate security measures, the hacker was able to bypass the security measures, including 2FA, using a custom-developed tool dubbed rapeflake. Modern networking techniques such as Zero Trust Architecture strengthen security by ensuring that no user or device is trusted by default. Cloud environments should be regularly tested beyond surface-level configurations.
Many impacted accounts lacked MFA, and valid credentials were used years after being stolen, highlighting poor password update practices and a lack of network access control. Some ways to improve cloud security include multi-layered approaches, verifying the user, securing the connection, securing the environment, investing in advanced tools, and development of an incident response plan for potential security breaches.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Incorporate additional layers such as biometrics, hardware tokens, or device certificates. Behavioral Analytics: Continuously monitor user behavior, analyzing patterns like typing speed, device usage, and geolocation.
Adaptive Authentication: Leverage context-aware systems to adjust security requirements based on factors such as location, device type, and access history. Regular security awareness training is essential to equip employees with the knowledge to recognize and respond to potential threats.
Ethical hackers simulate cyber-attacks on your systems to uncover vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. Ensure that users have only the minimum level of access necessary to perform their tasks. Use robust encryption protocols to protect your data when it’s being transmitted and when it’s stored. Have a clear, tested strategy in place for responding to potential security breaches.
Remember, cloud security is an ongoing process. So, regularly reassess your security measures, stay informed about emerging threats, and be prepared to adapt your strategies as the threat landscape evolves.

Build a Container Package for your React App with Docker and GitHub Actions

This article is about building a container package for a React app with Docker and GitHub Actions. The author creates a pipeline in Github Actions to package the React UI code into a container using a Dockerfile and store the package in Amazon ECR.
The pipeline consists of the following stages: checkout react code from Github, generate a random tag to the package, and build the image and push it to Amazon ECR. The author creates a React app using a TypeScript template and creates a Dockerfile with specific commands for containerizing the app. The author also adds an .npmrc file temporarily to the Dockerfile to allow the image runtime to pull the package with authorization to the package repository and removes it later.
Then the author builds and tags the image and runs the container using the docker command. The author thinks like a DevOps Engineer and builds a pipeline for reusability, which ensures accuracy in deployments.
The author uses the actions/checkout action to download the code to the GitHub runner and generates a random tag using the date to the package. After that, the author authenticates in AWS and logs in to Amazon ECR. The author then builds the image and pushes it to Amazon ECR.
As a bonus, the author added some logic to identify the latest image in ECR, which is based on the date it was pushed. In the next part of the series, the author intends to explain one of the options to deploy this image in AWS.
