macOS Sequoia fixes a problem that’s bugged me for years

macOS Sequoia released iPhone Mirroring feature, one particular element of which is drag-and-drop to improve daily workflow.
iPhone Mirroring lets you control your iPhone from Mac's desktop and access all the apps.
The feature has been absent in all macOS Sequoia and iOS 18 betas, but now available in macOS 15.1 and iOS 18.1.
The new drag-and-drop feature can simply drag screenshots from iPhone's Photos app into the work folder without any extra steps.
The iPhone Mirroring has affixed the solution to issues with Dropbox and AirDrop methods.
Users can move images directly from iPhone into an app compared to Dropbox/AirDrop that involves retrieving files to wherever needed.
iPhone Mirroring isn't perfect; the iPhones need to be locked to divert secretly access by others.
Users haven't really used iPhone Mirroring in dropping a file from Mac to an iPhone app; however, it still solves long-standing issues between shifting files.
Apple's new iPhone Mirroring feature shows that some of the less glamorous changes can have a more significant impact on user's daily workflow.

The next Apple Vision Pro is tipped to debut the M5 chip next year

A new Vision Pro model will enter mass production during the second half of 2025. It will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced M5 chip.
The headset will also get Apple Intelligence, which, combined with its spatial computing, will be its main selling point.
The price of the Vision Pro is expected to stay the same, but improvements in weight and battery life may contribute to its mainstream popularity.

Building and Sharing an AMI Using AWS Image Builder

AWS Image Builder automates the process of creating and distributing Amazon Machine Images.
It can be used to share an AMI with another AWS account without copying it.
This post shows how to set up an Image Builder pipeline to create a custom Windows Server 2022 AMI.
The pipeline installs Terraform, the AWS PowerShell Module, and other tools.
We can configure launch permissions to share the AMI with other AWS accounts without copying it.
This reduces storage costs and simplifies management across different accounts.
We start by setting up a custom Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) to provide the networking environment for our resources.
The VPC includes a public subnet, an Internet Gateway for internet access, and a route table to direct traffic.
An IAM role with appropriate permissions is created and associated with an EC2 instance profile for interaction with other AWS services.
AWS Image Builder allows us to define custom components that are executed during the AMI creation process.
