Jamba 1.5 family of models by AI21 Labs is now available in Amazon Bedrock

AI21 Labs has announced the availability of its Jamba 1.5 family of large language models in Amazon Bedrock. Both Jamba 1.5 Mini and Jamba 1.5 Large support a 256K token context window, structured JSON output, function calling and can digest document objects.
Jamba 1.5 Large is optimised for complex reasoning tasks across all prompt lengths, while Jamba 1.5 Mini is tailored for low-latency processing of long prompts.
Key features of these models include both holding a 256K token context length and support for multiple languages such as, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, German, Arabic, and Hebrew.
Performance-wise, Jamba 1.5 achieved up to 2.5x faster inference on long contexts than similarly sized models tested by AI21.
Users can request access to the models via the Amazon Bedrock console and can experiment with them within the chat and text playground.
Potential use cases for the Jamba 1.5 family of models include paired document analysis, compliance analysis, and question answering for long documents.

How the PGA TOUR Is using generative AI to change the golf fan’s experience

The PGA TOUR is working with Amazon Web Services on a range of generative AI applications as part the organisations 10-year partnership with the cloud computing giant.
The partnership is aimed at making golf more engaging, accessible and enjoyable for fans to watch and follow.
The organisation has compiled a media library of 25 petabytes, containing thousands of hours of video footage and terabytes of end-to-end PGA TOUR data stored in the AWS cloud.
Using AWS' Bedrock suite of Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Programming (NLP) technologies, the PGA TOUR is exploring 32 different use cases for generative AI.
Amongst the use cases being tested in beta is a chatbot that pulls information from over 30 years of PDF-based media guides, freeing up staff to conduct other activities.
The innovative golf organisation is also exploring fan-facing applications and recently demoed an AI-generated play-by-play commentary system aimed at giving golf fans a richer, narrative-level experience of the action on the course.
The PGA TOUR and AWS partnership is a good example of co-innovation whereby both parties see themselves as experts in their respective fields, combining efforts to create unique solutions.
The PGA TOUR's cloud-based scoring system and other generative AI applications for reporting and fan engagement will be rolled out over the next few years.
Scott Gutterman, senior vice president of digital operations at the PGA TOUR stressed the importance of generating actionable insights from the vast amount of data the organisation has accumulated over the years.
