Apple’s M-series chip Mini gets its first major redesign since 2010.
The new Mac Mini is larger than the Apple TV 4K and features brushed aluminium and rounded corners.
The Mini features fewer ports than Studio including three Thunderbolt ports on the back.
The power button on the Mini has been shifted to the bottom and acts as a vent for the fan.
The Mini comes with either an M4 or M4 Pro and can be priced up to just under $7,000.
Mac Mini is a well-designed machine with a somewhat unclear market segment.
It is ideal for those who already have a monitor setup and want to upgrade their system.
The Mini is easy to imagine companies buying these up in bulk.
For consumers, it is worth considering whether a MacBook or iMac is a better option for your setup and pocketbook.
The Mini sits in between iMac and Mac Studio, it’s compact size is nice, taking up significantly less desk space than the Studio.

M4 Mac reviews are in: Here’s what everyone is saying about Apple’s big upgrades

Apple released M4 MacBooks and iMacs with new designs and faster Thunderbolt 4 ports and USB-C accessories, with many praising the devices' performance and improvements of previous versions.
Reviews of the iMac M4 praised the new 12MP Center Stage camera, which SixColors states is an improvement on the original Center Stage camera available on the Studio and a significant upgrade. The nano-texture option was also heavily praised by those who reviewed the device.
PCMag called the iMac an excellent system, though expensive. TechCrunch praised the new iMac's updated camera and considered the machine a huge upgrade for those coming from an older Intel system, but with little need for newer iMacs.
The updated M4 Mac mini has a new compact design, and Engadget praised its suitability as Apple's budget gaming system, stating that although the M4 Mini was fine for casual gaming, more ambitious games likely require an M4 Pro processor.
The Verge called the M4 MacBook Pro 'a Pro for everyone' and praised its 10-core CPU, GPU, and 16GB of memory, making it a massive improvement on previous versions. Fast Company reviewed the MacBook Pro focused on the new nano-textured display, which it praised and Good Housekeeping highlights the increase of battery life.
Upgraded memory and storage are expensive, warns Engadget on the Mac mini. CNET notes you'll have to shell out $400 just to get 32GB of RAM on the base model, a price not reflective of the market outside the Apple ecosystem. Nevertheless, the budget option is perfect for those not looking for a serious upgrade.

Windows 11’s Paint and Notepad apps are getting smart new AI features – though one of the best will be for Copilot+ PCs only

Windows 11’s Paint and Notepad apps are getting AI features in testing in the Canary and Dev channels.
Notepad has a new AI feature called ‘Rewrite’ ability which uses generative AI to rewrite text.
Notepad will also open 35% faster with a Microsoft account.
Paint is getting a feature called ‘generative fill’ which adds an AI element to an image after being fed a prompt such as ‘medieval castle’.
Generative erase is also being added to Paint to remove elements in an image and replacing with background in seconds.
Paint’s Generative fill will only be available with Copilot+ PC machines that have Snapdragon CPU.
Other features will be available for non-Copilot+ devices but Cocreator, which creates AI-generated images, will be also made faster on Copilot+ machines.
These AI features are still in testing stage, and Microsoft is taking feedback before a wider rollout.
Notepad features are a trade-off between core philosophy and performance boost.
Windows 11 still has a year left to upgrade though many users are considering it.
